Fender created the Lead series in 1979 in response to imported guitars, of high quality but inexpensive. The instruments featured a new solid-body body design, fixed trestles (hardtail) and super new wiring options. These elegant Lead models caught the eye of a wide variety of musicians and ushered in a new creative era in the history of Fender.
The Player Lead III, a tribute to the original model produced only in 1982, includes a set of powerful Alnico Magnet Player humbucker pickups, two switches for choosing pickups and splitting coils, and a modern "C" profile handle with medium-jumbo frets. Available in Purple Metallic finishes, but also in classic Olympic White and Sienna Sunburst versions.
The Player Lead Series combines style, power and versatility in a comfortable and easy-to-play instrument.
