FENDER MTG Tube Distortion

Fender hit the nail on the head with its new wave of classy and ingenious effects pedals. Proof of this is with the MTG Tube Distortion. If the previous series already hosted four saturations, the American brand has found a way to bring something else. Here is a lamp saturation, made in collaboration with Bruce Egnater (amps of the same name): the MTG Tube Distortion houses a 6205 NOS.

It is a small format that has already been found in the preamp section of the DV head Mark "Raw Dawg" EG (eric Gales model). According to Fender, this NOS lamp comes from an old military stockpile. The miracle takes place under the hood, where an internal power supply generates 150V, while it only takes a classic 9V block to power the whole. We end up with a sound that is both rich and detailed.

Almost anything is possible. She is very comfortable in classic rock, and hard rock, thanks to a very musical equalization (with a very effective potard of mediums). If you want to push the gain really far, to the limit of metal, the Boost section (gain and volume) activatable at the foot delivers everything you need. It becomes more doom or stoner, with a fuzzy borderline sound, very pleasant.

Thanks to a beautiful seat, and a rendering very close to the saturated channel of a tube amp, the MTG Tube Distortion can bring a slightly dull amp back to life, or be the ideal partner for a digital speaker emulation to bring warmth and a beautiful analog color back into the sound chain.
